Bienvenido Mister Monfort

This is an advance on the second book that I am currently working on. I would like to have the same artists on board and replicate the same structure of the first book, ie two halves, six parts, thirty chapters, with introductory one-page drawings for each chapter, a two-page summary figure in the center of the book, a map of Spain and a caricature featuring The Monfort Team for Spain. The book title would be Bienvenido Mr Monfort.

BIENVENIDO MR MARSHALL was a Spanish movie released in 1953:

Jose Luis Garcia Berlanga directed the movie Welcome Mister Marshall. The movie was completed on 18 October 1952 and released in Madrid in April 1953. On 30 January 1953 Spain joined the United Nations, starting a new stage of increasing international presence.

In Welcome Mister Marshall Berlanga presents a satire of Spain’s isolationism in the dictatorship of General Francisco Franco. The movie narrates the story of a town called Villar del Rio. Inhabitants in Villar del Rio hear that American diplomats are about to visit the town, and start preparing the welcome reception. BBC presents the movie as follows:

News reaches the inhabitants of this threadbare backwater that American officials representing the post-World War II European Recovery Programme (the Marshall Plan) are soon to arrive. With an eye to snaring a hefty slice of economic aid, the locals quickly prepare a welcoming fiesta, reinventing their village as an alluring Andalusian town.

The second book will be written in Spanish and released in Spain in the summer of 2011 about 9 months prior to the general election of March 2012. The name BIENVENIDO MR MONFORT (Welcome Mr Monfort) will remind Spaniards that there is change ahead if they welcome Mr Monfort and his team of Sabios de Nuestro Tiempo, some of the finest and wisest men and women from Spain that mimic THE MONFORT PLAN’s team of 100 Expert Dreamers.

The first book proposes a paradigm shift in ECONOMICS. The strategy behind the implementation of THE MONFORT PLAN can only take off if a country embraces the new approach to economic development and international cooperation. Spain might be the country that leads the paradigm shift in ECONOMICS, which would require a paradigm shift in POLITICS. This is the change proposed in BIENVENIDO MR MONFORT.

We are in transition from the era of politics to the era of post-politics that begins in 2012. It is a coup d’establishment that will begin a civilized war between Spaniards that have no clue (Espanolis) vs Spaniards who love and dream and imagine a better Spain to start with.

The decada prodigiosa begins in Spain in 2012. If Spaniards vote for change they might, as a country, skip the lost decade everyone in Spain is saying the country heads off towards. 2012 is within the Window of Opportunity that opens up on the Decem Date and ends at the end of 2015. This Window of Opportunity may not return. We might, as a global society, enter a time machine (Tardis) capable of accelerating trends and bring us to the World of 2050, a World of no hunger and disease, a World of Eutopia and Cornucopia, the World of Decemland.

No comparto ese "everyone in Spain is saying". Vamos sí lo comparto personalmente; pero casi nadie más lo dice en este país.

¿Has leído "The Iron Heel"? Tus textos cada vez me lo recuerdan más...

Por mi parte creo que no se puede cambiar el mundo "a mejor". No es que no mole intentarlo; pero prefiero ser realista.

Si estás por Madrid llámame que hace mucho que no te veo el pelo...
